Welcome back to the blog! Today we will be discussing Lisa and how she’s now facing major backlash after the drop of her solo album alter ego!

Let’s get into it….

First things first, when Rockstar dropped , I was fully invested and enjoying Lisa’s second solo endeavor! As I previously stated, I thought we were heading in a strong direction and we would get to see a new side to Lisa.

The issue is after many star studded single releases and many “misplaced” Hollywood opportunities, fans are starting to worry Lisa is getting lost in the chaos of it all.

In the kpop world and the Asian entertainment business Lisa is MASSIVE!! She’s part of one of the biggest kpop girl groups ever, and is known for her amazing dance skills and killer stage presence. She’s loved and adored, and probably the most famous black pink girl.

But with trying to break out over in the states she’s not finding her footing at all. She’s trying to bring her K-pop formula over here and it’s just not translating well! People are tired of her performing at all these huge awards shows , and lip syncing !

She’s even gotten into acting with the hit show The White lotus and just performed at the Oscars! Which a lot of fans are starting to point out that she’s only getting her connections due to her very rich and powerful French boyfriend.

Which I do not like that narrative at all, Lisa is extremely popular, especially with the American fanbase, so it is possible she made a few connections and has a new team that’s pushing for her to be the Next Big Thing. Not her boyfriend , but it does all seem a bit unnatural and forced !

Lisa is definitely not the strongest singer out of BlackPink or any kpop group. So it’s wild they would ask her to perform at the Oscars of all things. The acting gig isn’t to weird to me, as many singers get cameos in shows. It is weird that she’s being promoted like she’s a main character. which most likely has to do with her connections.

I think her team is taking the wrong road with trying to get her westernized. The music no matter how fun, is falling flat. The only two songs I like so far are rock star and f up the world . And after the other single drops, her album just doesn’t seem like something I’d be in rush to listen to. It’s still very much giving fun kpop girl music and not personal to who she is as an artist ! she’s going to still do well because it’s LISA. And she’s a household name because of BlackPink. But it’s not going to last long if she doesn’t change the routine. And gives us something authentic!

We know she’s stunning, can perform and is fun! What is the real LISA like? I think the concept around Alter Ego is cool but like I don’t know. I just find it maybe would have worked better for someone else. and I’m a little let down. I was expecting more.
