Welcome back to ASTOLDBYSHANISE! Continuing with our celebration of black history month during March, I will be naming some of the few iconic black comedies I grew up on!

Let’s get into it….

Comedy has long been a genre that the black community thrives in ! So much so that other films will have a funny black “sidekick “ character or mostly white led films , will mimic black comedy to make their films sell or more relatable . And often times , it will fall super flat and be borderline racist .We will always be the blueprint and something that Hollywood will NEVER been able to duplicate . No matter how hard they try! there hasn’t been many black comedies as of late that I love and vibe with. But hopefully we reclaim that genre and get back to making quality great comedic films! As soon as we do, I’ll be first in line to buy a ticket !
