Xo Kitty Season 2 Review

By : Shanise Lachelle

Welcome Back to the Blog ! Today we will be reviewing season 2 of Xo, Kitty! Let’s dive in!!!

We pick up right where left off in season 1, where kitty is trying to figure out here feelings for Yuri and Minho. This season overall was really cute and miles better than season 1! I did find it kind of rushed though and we waited so long, I wished it was more than 8 episodes. But I get they’re trying to do the slow burn thing and keep us hooked, and it’s sadly working!

This season is all about Kitty being in a love triangle but also trying to solve more of her mom’s secret pass with KISS and Korea. I do like how we got MORE of kitty’s family story line and she got to actually meet some of her Korean family. I’m very interested to see where they continue to go with that In season 3. I personally feel like the whole “love triangle “ story line is a little forced and should have ended in season 1. I never felt like she had genuine intense feelings for yuri, but more so it was more of her first girl crush. I always felt and saw her more with Minho or getting back together with dae. Which is a plot line that has officially died and now they’re just friends.

We get 3 new characters, Jin, praveena, and Stella! I kind of initially thought this was way too many new main characters and we’d get off track. But they fit right in and complimented the cast and story line very well. The only character of the 3 that kind of got the back burner was praveena, and then they just randomly put her with Juliana at the end. Which made zero sense to me but whatever I guess. Stella being the villain, was very obvious and I called it the moment she stepped on the screen being all “farm like and innocent”. Her character kind of annoyed me though, I can’t lie.

(Spoiler Alert)

Juliana and Yuri was a story line I was excited to see play out, and it ended as soon as I saw Kitty being their roommate! There was just no way that was going to work out , with Yuri and Kitty having secret feelings for each other. And Juliana as annoying as she was, was very valid for feeling the way she did! Because obviously her gut instincts weren’t lying to her. I wanted them to work it out, but I’m glad Juliana stood on business .

Yuri had the least character development, and this why they needed more than 8 episodes! She clearly has a lot of work to do on herself and I can’t wait to see how her character figures her life out . Will she spiral, or get it together? maybe their will be a new potential love interest for her in season 3?!

Also wanted MORE of dae this season, not that we didn’t get a decent amount. He is a main character and one of the main reasons Kitty even went to kiss in the first place ! I think he should get more screen time in season 3 and maybe less time for all the side characters.

Overall i give this season 5/5, we got more kitty family plot, more slow burn with her and Minho, and a little razzle dazzle drama with Stella!

Also this moment was very sweet and much needed for kitty! I love that Peter is still obsessed with Laura Jean and how he picks up on how much Minho liked Kitty immediately!
