Welcome Back to the Blog! Today we will be talking about Perrie’s solo career!

Let’s get into it…..

From the beginning when the girls went on hiatus, I was very excited to see where each girl ended up with their solo careers. I think the general world was excited to see what perrie would do, because of her bubbly personality and her amazing power house vocals.

I’ve already expressed in many previous posts how lackluster her solo career has been and I have a few thoughts on why that might be.

First she seems to be having a hard time connecting with her core audience. Which is crazy because she was one of the most popular members in Little Mix. But it seems now she’s being overshadowed by her bad mates . and can’t find her footing within the music industry.

Second she’s having a hard time finding her sound and aesthetic. we’ve seen many times before being “pretty” and being able to sing is simply NOT enough. You have to have that aura and star power that makes people want to know your every move. You have to have a signature look and vibe, that your audience can also relate too. She’s simply a gorgeous blonde and her songs don’t seem to connect to her in any way . They are fun pop songs but it doesn’t seem to connect deeper than that. you can tell she has a hand in writing them, but the studio is giving her songs they think fit her . That could honestly go to any other pop singer and we wouldn’t even be able to tell the difference!

Perrie has the star power if she would just lock in, she has the voice and the looks. And she’s engaged to Pro footballer Alex OxChainberlain and a MUM. So people are obviously curious about her and her life. I think it was Great idea, that she went back to the drawing board after her first 5 singles and decided to re work her album. The direction it was going in, I could see her not even making the top 10.

This new single, IF HE WANTED TO HE WOULD. Is a perfect fit, and it follows the vibes of her only solo number hit , FORGET ABOUT US. I think this vibe along with the ballads is her sound. Mixers already know Perrie, but the world doesn’t. And if they do , they only know her as the blonde who dates Zayn from One Direction. It’s time she takes creating her image and aesthetic seriously, and not rely on being a member of little mix. That sadly will only take her inside the UK.

I love Perrie and I know if she just got the right marketing team behind her and she got more personal and honest with her music, that she would skyrocket!! And I’m always going to be rooting for her no matter what. it can only go up from here!
