Welcome Back To the Blog! Today we will be discussing Pinky up and Manons prolonged hiatus !

Let’s get into it…

Pinky up has been teased for a few months now. And was “leaked” a few weeks ago. Fans speculating it was leaked to create buzz , because it had center and visual Manon in it. When’s she’s been on hiatus since February, it created the narrative that she might be back for this new comeback and era. Even though no official statement has been released and she had zero promo photos for , PINKY UP.

As of now Manon is still on hiatus and not only is she not apart of this comeback , but she’s also been confirmed to NOT be performing at Coachella this month. Which she had previously stated she was super excited for . None of this makes sense , as these things are planned months in advance . Which means she most likely recorded and obviously learned the choreography for pinky up, before she was removed all together and forced on hiatus . also I’m pretty sure the packaging on this new era has Manon, so I’m curious to see what they do with that?! Are they gonna remove her from the albums ?

I wish I could fully enjoy this comeback and era, but I’m just not feeling the direction they’re going in , especially since they trained these girls like the musical marines and they are exceptionally talented! But also because since dream academy, Manon has been targeted and they created this narrative about her that’s extremely harmful and negative. And they seem to want to upkeep that narrative, never mind how damaging it can be.

I get the vibe they are trying to go for , which is edgy , Y2K , and rave music. But unfortunately Gnarly and Internet girl was more than enough. We don’t need to KEEP making experimental empty music. Especially since the girls have said multiple times they want to produce and make R&b type songs.

Honestly the visuals are cool and expressive. But if you take the visuals out, the song is literally 2/5. Although catchy and fun to look at , the song falls flat and the lyrics are crazy and super empty . And NO, not every song has to be serious and have vocal runs . But most of their discography at this point is like this . If this was the vision they had for the girls at the start, they shouldn’t have started off with Debut and Touch. Or have made them train as hard as they did , it’s a waste of their talent .

Going forward I don’t think I can support this girl group or any more groups coming out of Hybe. Kpop has been on decline the last few years and rapidly this year. So much is getting exposed and it’s hard to turn a blind eye. I enjoy my fandoms and concert going, but it’s becoming very toxic and unhealthy for fans and the idols!
