Horror/Thrillers I’ve Watched Lately

By : SHANISE LACHELLE

Over the last few months, I’ve consumed SO much new material in terms of horror and thriller movies. Movies that I just clicked on and gave a chance, and was pleasantly surprised. Well most of the time anyway. Let’s get into some of my most recent horror watches and if I liked them or not.

BETTER WATCH OUT
Always used to see this on Netflix and was curious but never gave it a go. Finally did and oh my god what a wild ride! I won’t spoil anything, but this film is definitely not what you think it is and has so many twists and turns. Would watch again definitely!! 10/10
AQUASLASH
The most ridiculous movie I’ve probably ever seen with zero wrap up with the ending. It felt like a student film that got green lighted by Hollywood and went straight to streaming services. A cool and different premise… mid acting. Wouldn’t watch again but would be fun for background noise during Halloween! 3/10
UNSEEN
Definitely more of a thriller than horror, but very entertaining. Kind of wasn’t expecting anything much at all, and had played it for background noise . But quickly tuned in once things started to pop off! It’s a bit over the top at times and that for me personally takes away from the plot. But everything else is give a solid 10/10. Had me on the edge of my seat… truly.
ROOM FOR RENT
This movie pissed me off so much! From the synopsis and posters, you’d think it would be something totally different and more sinister. But what got was so garbage to me, I literally kept rolling my eyes throughout the entire film. Everytime I thought it was going somewhere, it barely went anywhere! They could have done so much more with this plot, and left me very dry and wanting more. 2/10
THANKSGIVING
The biggest wild ride ever!! Did not expect to love this film as much as I did , I watched it twice back to back. The kills, the plot, the acting was all top notch!! 10/10
FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY
I stand corrected, THIS just might be the silliest plot I’ve ever seen in a movie! I mean it’s totally a great and different plot but I couldn’t take it seriously at all. I found myself laughing more than actually being disturbed. 8/10 the acting was solid and Josh H. did a great job with trying to bring this film to life. It was just to silly to me.
I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE Very disturbing and I’ve actually put off watching this move for YEARS. Because I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to take it. It wasn’t as bad as I initially thought but it was actually awful! She got her revenge though and I loved every part of it. Acting wasn’t all that great, but enjoyed the plot. 8/10
FINAL SUMMER Literally just a random movie I put on one day to pass the time and was pleasantly surprised. Lower than mid acting and seems kinda low budget. But it did what it was made to do, which was entertain you. 5/10
TALK TO ME. One of the most talked about horror films last year and I see why. Now for me personally it wasn’t that SCARY. Just more disturbing and sad to be honest. There’s one scene In particular that haunts me and if you’ve seen it, I’m sure you know exactly which one I’m talking about. 9/10 just because I wanted just a. Tad bit more scaries than what we got.
Lisa Frankenstein. From the creator of one of my most favorite movies all of time( JENNIFERS Body), i knew deep down i would love this movie! And i absolutely did, it was fun, well acted and alot of kills . 10/10

And that’s the end of my list! What horror have you watched lately? Have we watched any of the same films? And what do you think about my ratings?
