Perrie has finally released her first solo single and it’s super Perrie coded! Let’s get into it….

Perrie is the second little mix member to release solo music and perhaps one of the most anticipated members as well. The blonde bombshell was always a fan favorite and her deep smooth chocolate tone always shocked non fans when they heard her sing. She has such a huge and beautiful vocal range, so she literally could do any genre and her voice would adapt so well. Which is extremely hard to do sometimes as a vocalist.

But Perrie manages easily , it’s almost like breathing for her. So I was excited to see what her first single would sound like and how far vocally she would go.

Forget about us is written by ed Sheeran and totally sounds like a ed Sheeran song. Now don’t get me wrong, I love ed Sheeran and he’s super talented. But I love more the 2010-2011 ed Sheeran, the big British artist who hadn’t become so Americanized with his music. And in the turn every song he’s released in the last 5 years sounding the same. This single that he gave to Perrie is no different, I can kind of see him singing it, but it more sounds like a song meant for his bestie Taylor swift.

Any way you put it, it went to Perrie, she and the label loved it and it’s now our first Perrie single. Now it is very much on brand for perries pop and happy hippie side. I was just hoping for more of a sassy pop/r&b banger , where she could deliver some real vocals. She does sound so clear and amazing in forget about us and she has one run/high note that even when performed live , it’s incredible. But besides that it’s not really anything special. Just your typical popppy love song.

She does look beautiful in the video and of course the video sells the song a little more. And it shows Perrie in various warm locations just being herself and having fun. I think that was actually a great direction for her , as she’s a lot of fun In real life and the world could see her personality shine through as a solo artist and not just a member of little mix.

I know Perrie can do so much better and hopefully we will get more music or information about the album soon. Either way , I’m so proud of her and she must’ve been so nervous. But she’s done so well introducing herself as a solo artist and I know the world is waiting for more of our PERRIE.
