Welcome Back to the blog! Today we will be discussing WolfMan, one of my most anticipated horrors of this year! Let’s get into it…
Wolf man is about a young man named Blake, who takes his family into the woods to help him grieve his father’s sudden death. When they’re are attacked by an unseen “animal”.
First things first, I knew it was a werewolf movie and it’s blumhouse, so I didn’t expect much. That was until I saw the rated R rating and I got slightly excited. But what I got was nothing like I expected. Wolf man was highly emotional and I know it’s that time of the month for me, but I found myself feeling so bad for this family.
I literally cried multiple times during this movie and I didn’t sign up for that okay! This film was perfectly acted and well paced. We got right to the point and I actually enjoyed that, I like that it wasn’t dragged out too long.
*spoilers*
I will like to say I called the “animal” attacking him, being his “dead father”. I knew as soon as they pronounced him dead, he had gotten bitten and turned into the new werewolf haunting those woods. But it still hurt all the same, seeing it all played out. Part of me thinks the father knew , even in his animal state of mind , that was his child. And in his own way, he was trying to connect with him.

Which brings me to my next point, I like how they showcased how Blake changing actually affected him! In most werewolf movies or shows, it’s all the same. They change into a werewolf and that’s it. But this shows how he slowly changed and even couldn’t communicate with them anymore or understand them. Which once again made me incredibly sad for him. He didn’t know what was happening to him and couldn’t properly express to his family what he was going through.

All in all I give this film 4/5, and that’s only because I wanted more horror elements! I went into this movie thinking it was gonna be something creepy and it was highly emotional instead . It was a great movie over all. I just didn’t appreciate it tugging on my heart strings for the entire movie! I would totally classify it as more of a thriller than horror!
