Welcome Back to the Blog and Happy Tuesday! Today we will be discussing Katseye Grammy debut !! And if it was a hit or miss.

Let’s get into it….

First things first, I LOVE Katseye DOWN! I watched their documentary and grew to love them all! I wasn’t around for their Sis era , but I did come around the end of it and when Touch was blowing up! It became my favorite song for weeks!!

Fast forward a year later and we have their newest album Beautiful Chaos, featuring hits, Gnarly and Gameboy!

But it was their fan favorite and also the public’s favorite, Gabriela , that got them nominated for their first ever Grammy!

Now as a long time music , girl group lover and an avid Grammy Watcher, I’ve learned that the Grammys can be a hit or miss or they don’t actually reward the talent that deserves it!

They did in fact loose in their category of best new artist and I think it was for the best. It was amazing for them to even be nominated freshly two years into being a group. And I hope they take that moment and grow from it.

But sadly I just don’t think they will anytime soon!

The girls looked AMAZING on the red carpet , and it was one of their best looks to date!!! Literally 10/10, everything was absolutely perfect! Then they got on stage and performed Gnarly and NOT Gabriela. Which would have been fine if they weren’t nominated for Gabriela .

Gnarly is without a super fun and catchy song, and you either love it or hate it absolutely. And it definitely put them on the map, with fans going from hating it to loving it in less than 24 hours. But it definitely wasn’t the song to perform for the Grammys. I mean, there’s a reason it wasn’t nominated. And to have the girls perform that silly but fun song in front of some of the world’s most talented, just seemed like a set up from Todd. All jokes aside, I just think Hybe didn’t think that one through all the way.

I read that there was a time limit, and all the best new artists had to perform one after the other . But they could have done a shorter version of the ONE song they were actually nominated for!

And they got on the red carpet and said we’d see a new performance we’ve never seen before and it was the same exact performance they’d been doing on tour for months!

I’m super happy they got the chance to experience and perform at the Grammys. But I need them to immediately go back to the drawing board and maybe start speaking up more in meetings. If they keep up with the fun empty TikTok songs , they’re are gonna burn out and fast! These girls are performers and can actually sing…. SO HYBE LET THEM SING!
