This one has been a long time coming and with all the hype and criticism, I decided to finally sit down and watch Madam Web , not once but twice! Let’s get into it….

First things first I remember when the news of this film being made and how excited I was. For one I LOVE Dakota Johnson and love her acting. She’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but I love how she takes each role and makes it relatable and different than you’d expect! And she has such great sense of worth and humor. It’s very dry and seems to run people the wrong way, which I love even more.

Now onto the movie, it wasn’t all that bad at all. The internet was in an uproar for weeks trashing this movie, it got so bad I refused to watch it, because if everyone was saying it was horrible, what was the point?

But after sitting down one day and deciding to put it on , I was left confused. Yea the movie has some cheesy moments and all, but it wasn’t as garbage as everyone made it seem.

To me personally it sits on the shelf with all the hulk movies, and the daredevil movies. Like it’s not AMAZING by any means but it’s actually not bad either .

I feel like we’re in the day and age where people drag things just for fun and clout. Now I will say the villain in this movie was very weak in every sense of the word. Like his acting was the worst in the entire movie. Him walking around with no shoes on was annoying me. Every time he came on screen I rolled my eyes. I never once took him seriously. He seemed like a cool villain though, so maybe different casting would have made it better.

Dakota Johnson does as great as anyone can with this type of film and she absolutely delivers. The supporting cast of young actresses were actually pretty decent as well. I felt the chemistry between the younger characters of course . But it wasn’t necessarily missing with Dakota either. the film is about Cassandra Web who starts to have visions of a recurring event after nearly drowning to death.

All in all I give this film a 3/5, I did enjoy it, but it definitely wasn’t a favorite. I love mostly anything marvel puts out so I was a bit disappointed with this film . I definitely wanted more action and to see the girls suit up.

But I doubt we will ever get a second film with the way it was trashed so bad and how Dakota seemed so nonchalant about this entire film.
