Welcome back to the Blog! Today we will be reviewing Horror/thriller Companion. Let’s get into it…

The movie follows iris as she joins her boyfriend Josh on a weekend getaway with his friends, when things start to go wrong. I seriously had such high hopes for this movies after the trailers and early reviews. And I’m kind of let down.

I will say the cast is amazing and Jack quaid and Sophie Thatcher carried this movie on their backs and are exceptional! Jack Quaid does a really good job of playing dorky kind of unlikable boyfriend . As this is his second role that he’s played this type of character. And I believe it every single time. this is my first film with Sophie and she’s a powerhouse in the making! Her face expressions alone say so much. She played a robot so well, which is not an easy thing to do.

I knew the big reveal of iris being a robot was spoiled in the trailer, and I kind of feel like that they should have kept that a secret . It kind of ruins the movie in a way! But the film itself was very entertaining. It kind of took a turn in the beginning that I didn’t see coming and I was very surprised with the ending.

I did expect this to the a robot gone wrong type thing, where’s she killing a lot of people. Like very horror/gore type film. And this was the complete opposite. Yes we got some killings and it was slightly gory, but not really. And I found myself wanting more horror and less thriller aspects, which is what this film turned out to be.

I just wanted MORE, so I give this film 8/10. The acting was top tier, and the concept was cool. Just wish they made iris more lethal and the film had more horror elements.
