Welcome Back to the Blog and Happy Tuesday! Today we will be discussing Itzy’s brand new single , MOTTO.

Let’s get into it…

Itzy has been one of my top 4 girl groups since I got into kpop back in 2020. They have never missed for me personally and each comeback has been better than the last! I know when Sneakers , was released they took a hit to the fandom and some people no longer took them seriously. Which is crazy , because Sneakers is such a fun time and feels very reminiscent of what kpop should be!

Over the years , I’ve been more prone to their darker concepts , ( Mafia In The Morning) , being one of my favorite concepts . I also very much enjoyed , (Girls Will Be Girls). But I also enjoy their softer comebacks like ,( Imaginary (Friend) , which celebrated the return of Lia.

Motto, is somewhere in the middle . And it’s the first bubblegum feel good single of the kpop summer ! I just knew when the promo pics released, that this single was gonna save the summer and release us from the dark and gritty concepts we’ve been getting from girl groups and boy groups for the last 5 years! It’s fun like their single , Cake. And it’s so visually appealing! of course this is just off one listen and watch, but I’m sure the more I listen and watch, I will become even more obsessed!!!

The girls sound and look so happy and good! One of my favorite parts of the video is them facing each other doing the choreography. It’s just so sisterly and cute.

I give Motto 5/5, and thank god. Maybe people will finally get off their necks and realized how golden ITZY, still is after all this time. They never left, everyone just decided to sleep on them and not give them their flowers . Motto is such a breath of fresh air and so much fun! It screams girl power and that summer is HERE!
