Welcome Back to AsToldByShanise, and Happy Sunday! Today we will be reviewing The Mummy.
Let’s get into it….

The Mummy not to be confused with the hit 90s franchise. Is about a family who loose their child while in Egypt . Only for their child to turn up years later , but something is clearly very off .
First thing first , this is one of the grossest movies I’ve seen in YEARS. I literally had to stop eating because I was loosing my appetite. This entire movie is insane to me. The concept of your daughter being abducted in a foreign country and then miraculously showing up years later , is already a far fetched concept .often when kids go missing they’re never found . Even more so if they’re abducted in an another country . The odds of finding that child is very slim.

But this is a MOVIE, so they had to do what they had to do to make it more entertaining.Once the little girl is found it is very clear she’s been through a lot of trauma . And she was found in a sarcophagus. So knowing all this, the parents still took her home . Which absolutely blew my mind, but I understand that’s their child . She then starts to act strange and chaos ensues.
I never knew where the movie was going to go and it got more gross as it went on. I did like how she started to posses the other children and make them act out. The horror aspect with that was great !
I did NOT like how the parents kept trying to treat her like she was “normal”, and leaving the kids around her . I feel like she realistically should have been introduced back into civilization very slowly . And the hospital should have done more tests on her to evaluate her !
Overall I give the film 3/5, it wasn’t the best. But it was better than I expected it to be!! I went into this film with very low expectations and was pleasantly surprised! I wouldn’t necessarily watch it again, but I definitely think it’s worth a watch !
