After listening a BILLION times and changing it over and over. I finally have my map of the soul 7 top songs! I would say top 5, but how could I possibly manage to only PICK 5!!!!??OUT of this entire masterpiece!?
2. Make it right
3. My time
4. On( y’all need to hype on more, the videos and performances should put this song in everyone’s top 5!!)
6.louder than bombs
8.00:00 (zero o clock)
9. Black swan
What’s your top 5 or top 10 of the map of the soul :7?! Yes I know I only did nine, figured I’d stop now before I list the entire album.
Just some of the few amazing photos from Harry’s recent photo shoot! I love how comfortable he is in himself and how he’s destroying the social norms!! I know he’s not the first man to do so( Michael Jackson. Bowie. Prince. Freddy Mercury) but he’s one of the few to do so in my generation! I think it’s important for young boys to see you can be whatever you want! Just because you wear makeup or carry a purse doesn’t mean you’re gay or whatever. ( but also if you’re gay you are still valid and amazing btw) let’s all destroy the social norms!!!
This month I’ll be spotlighting and highlighting artists of color! But also athletes of color and historical black figures. I did this last year and it was a success and super fun! I look forward to learning more about my culture and celebrating how FUCKING AWESOME it is to be black! No matter what society try’s to put on us! We are IT! Always has been always will BE.
I can’t wait to finally be SEEN. For someone to look at me and really SEE me . To really know me like I know me. To understand me. To actually listen to me. To notice things about me that I don’t have to tell them. To love me the way I love me. I can’t wait to finally be SEEN. It’s just lonely being the only one who knows ME.
I waited to do this review because I simply didn’t wanna seem unsupportive of the black arts. I was super excited when I first saw the trailer earlier this year and LOVED the concept of a black-chocolate Bonnie and Clyde. And to some extent this was just that. But it was also a HUGE letdown. The actors did AMAZING. They did what they could with the script and acted their asses off. The storyline has huge plot holes. And generally just didn’t seem like it knew what kind of story it wanted to tell. The film was beautifully shot. But it just wasn’t as great as the black community is hyping it up to be. It was boring.( I hate to say it), but it was boring. There was a point I fell asleep during it and woke up and nothing still had happened. The ending pissed me off and the whole film just didn’t seem likely. The only touching part of the film was the end. I hate even being this negative towards this film because it had the potential and the acting was superb!!! But it just fell short for me. But maybe that’s just me and maybe I was expecting to much, who knows! Still go see it and support the black arts!!!
