Let’s get into it….

First things first I absolutely HATED this film. The premise was very cool and something different, and I was curious to see how it played out. But the acting and the plot fell through halfway through the movie !

We follow the film through Jessica eyes. She’s a struggling artist that marries single dad Max. Who also has two daughters from his estranged ex wife. The same typical formal unravels, the girls don’t really like Jessica at first and have a hard time bonding with her. That is until the youngest daughter finds a bear and the craziness starts.

The only thing and I guess plot wise, I liked about this film was that only Jessica and the youngest daughter could see the bear. Hence the title of the movie , I completely forgot halfway through that the point of the movie was for the little girl to have an imaginary friend. So when the plot came that the toy bear was in fact not even there, I was gagged. I’m not even gonna lie, that one got me. and also the bear is the same imaginary toy bear that belonged to Jessica when she was a child !

But over all nothing scary or exciting really happens, and the final climax is just super goofy . And the monster bear was also super goofy and I just couldn’t take it seriously. This movie honestly could have went straight to streaming sites and reminds me of a Disney channel scary type movie.

Which sucks because the premise of a haunted bear making anyone do crazy things is a good enough start. You just need a stellar cast and script to deliver. And this film had neither. I did like that Chauncey the bear had the little girl doing these crazy unsafe tasks to be his friend. But I felt like it could have been pushed just a tad bit more and definitely a lot more scary.

I give imaginary 2/5. I wouldn’t watch it again and definitely wouldn’t recommend it. It just sucked, and that’s okay honestly. Not every horror film is gonna be my favorite or a hit.
