Today we’re back with another horror movie review. And this time it’s on the movie X.
X follows a group of amateur porn actors set out to make the next big porno film, when they’re met with an strange elderly couple, with more to them than meets the eye.
Watching the trailer I thought I knew where this movie was going to go but it ended up going on such a different direction.
The scenery and the vintage 70s feel of the film was my favorite. Felt like it was paying homage to the Texas Chainsaw Massacre films, And I loved that honestly.
The acting was also done very well, the script and the chemistry between the characters felt very real.
The standout and probably the funniest character, was played by Brittany Snow. Miss bobby-lynn stole the show and as raunchy as she was , she was equally as funny. Never knew Brittany could pull off such a character.
*SPOILER ALERT*
Her character also has the best death, in my humble opinion.
Mia Goth who plays the title character of Maxine is a Beast. She plays cocaine snorting Maxine with a fiery passion and subtle beauty. In a way you just want to get to know more about her. Mia does double the work of her costars by playing two characters In the film, both Maxine and pearl. And plays them both flawlessly.
Overall would give the movie 4/5, it was a great film and had some decent kills. Would love to see a film of pearl and her husband, and to see how and why they are the way they are. And it turns out we will be getting a movie all about grandma Pearl. I just feel like they’re two characters who needed to be flushed out more. And i understand why we couldn’t get it on X, so most likely we will get it in pearl.
I did like how they kind of went back and forth between Lorraine and Maxine on who would be the final girl, and was actually shocked when I called it wrong.
I didn’t really care for the ending and thought it was kind of lack luster. But I guess there wasn’t much more you could actually do, giving how it ended.
