Welcome back to AsToldByShanise! Today we will be reviewing and rating some horror films, that have unusual haunting/possessions!
Let’s get into it…
Mid 2000s horror that I haven’t seen since I was a teenager/early 20s. A film centered around dying after playing a video game . for the time that this film came out, it was actually pretty decent ! Of course if you compare it you the films now, it would be lackluster!
Based on the story by horror legend himself ,Stephen King. This film centers around a singular hotel room, that within an hour makes you want to harm yourself ! Everything about this movie is perfection and it still holds up til this day! And it’s never fully explained just why the room makes you want to end your life and what is exactly possessing the room. And sometimes films ending like that is a lot better than being over explained. The room is simply just EVIL.
Was pleasantly surprised by this film when I watched it last year! Reminds me a bit of the legend of the monkeys paw. And how when you make a wish on it , you get your wish granted , but of course something bad happens in return . Very gory, VERY good acting !! we don’t have enough movies about killer toys actually.
Great premise, horrible movie ! Watched it on a flight back home and was very disappointed. But the idea alone was very strong and it started off fine. Just finished very weak. Would love to see someone else make this type of film and see where it goes. A killer swimming pool is an epic story line and there’s so much you can do with it!
Another great horror premise, that fell short with bad story telling ! This film has ALOT of strong moments , but the acting and cringey horror with the teddy bear took me out of it . But it is something different and I will applaud it for that only .
I feel like we don’t get nearly enough different types of hauntings. So even if I don’t necessarily love the film, I will appreciate that writers and directors are TRYING to do something different. That’s the only way to keep the horror genre alive and fresh. Especially in the age of AI and reboots. have you seen any of these films on my list? Let me know in the comments down below……
