Boys Like You Review

By: Shanise Lachelle

Boys Like You is Itzys first English single and the fans are divided, let’s get into it.

Boys Like You was released fresh off their American Tour and it was met with mixed reactions. In my humble opinion, the song was cute and very Americanized. It gave Disney/Taylor swift vibes, which I’m sure which is what JYP was going for. The girls look cute and sound good of course, and the song works. Is it my favorite song of theirs?! Absolutely not. But I get the purpose of it, to generate American buzz for them ahead of their tour! and it definitely worked and had all the American media talking about them.

The girls definitely killed it and worked with what they were given, and the song is a sassy I hate boys anthem. Which we the people love, it just was a little cheesy. But Boys like you definitely works. And she’s slays , just not as hard as her counterparts.

What did you think of Boys Like You? Let me know in the comments down below. And as always… until next time friends…

Cheshire Review

By : Shanise Lachelle

We’re back with another Itzy post! Fresh off sneakers and that being a sleeper hit that divided the fandom, we’re back with yet another comeback! Let’s get into it….

Itzy has one hell of a year, with comeback after comeback! And all of them have been so different and so amazing. From Sneakers to Boys Like you. The girls have given us enough music and content to technically take a year break.

Cheshire is so wicked and so much fun. It’s super sleek but still with their typical girl crush concept. The chorus is super catchy- LA LA LALA WHY SO SERIOUS?! Yejis vocals really standing out in Cheshire. But all of the girls looking and sounding better than ever. The song is a definite trip and reminds you off Alice in wonderland. It’s definitely the complete opposite of SNEAKERS.

I do hope the girls get a break after this comeback, seeing as they just got off a world tour!! But one things for sure, they’re are killing it! And should be on everyone’s Ult list.

Ditto Review

By: Shanise Lachelle

New jeans are back,( they never really left), and with another Hit added to their growing list.

The song is very calming and but also you’ll find yourself getting up to dance and just move. “ stay in the middle like you a little” . The girls vocals sound great and the song feels like it could be in montage of romantic K-drama.

The song is about having a crush on someone but not wanting to fully put themselves out there until they know how the other person feels.

Hybe continues to let the girls grow but be completely their age and not over sexualize them! The video focus on the girls in school bonding and having fun. When it ends you see the other girls weren’t really there and it leads to a bunch of conspiracies. There’s two versions and I’ve only watched one. ( will update when I’ve seen both.) the music video totally gives All of us Are Dead Vibes.

New jeans continues to be on the right path and their music continues to excites fans! Can’t wait to see the live performances of Ditto. And I’m so proud of K-pop’s newest little sisters!! They’re doing so well and hybe seems to be taking great care of them.

Let me know what you thought about Ditto down below in the comments. And as always until next time friends….

Astronaut Review

By : Shanise Lachelle

Hi besties, we’re back with another Bts solo post and this time it’s about our Hyung SEOKJIN.

The Astronaut is a feel good song written by Coldplay just for our very own Jin! And I couldn’t think of a better collaboration than this! This song feels like SEOKJIN, and it feels like warmth and home. It feels sad but happy all at once. It feels bittersweet.

Watching the video didn’t make it any better, I totally sobbed watching it for the first time. Hearing Jin’s vocals with the message of the video just took me out.

The video and single is fresh off the news that the bts members will indeed be enlisting this year, stating with Jin in the next month or so. So it hits a little harder ,And it definitely hits hard knowing jin said the video was about leaving army and the boys behind. But keeping his love strong and that we would all be reunited soon.

I love that hybe has let each member and their solo be entirely THEM. Nothing seems forced , and it makes the boys look and feel more comfortable knowing they can put out the music they want too.

I’m so happy jin was given this song and opportunity to show off his talent and love for army. As our loving , silly , Hyung. We love you dearly and we are so proud of you in every way! Army will be right here when you get out! And this single is a MASTERPIECE!!!

SEOKJIN..,, Thankyou! I will hold this song so close to my heart.

Smile Review

By : Shanise Lachelle

Hello friends , we’re back with another horror movie review! So let’s get into it, but before we do please make sure you’re subscribed so you can stay update with everything AstoldByShanise.

Smile has been dominating every horror blog, with everyone saying it was the scariest movie they’ve seen in AGES. I was a little skeptical, because everytime something is over hyped, it usually doesn’t deliver.

But with smile I was left utterly terrified and so very much satisfied!

Smile follows Psychologist Rose when one her patients kills herself in front of her at her place of work. All while complaining of being terrified of SOMETHING that’s haunting her and smiling while doing so.

I found myself feeling so sad and defeated for the main character ROSE. I won’t post any spoilers, but the ending definitely leaves way for a sequel. And I’m very much intrigued to see where they can go with it.

The film was full of jump scares and frightening sequences, I’m not one for jump scares but a few caught me off guard.

I would definitely give this film 5/5 and say it was one my favorite horror releases this year. Go see it!!

It definitely has a lot of triggers and I wish they would have put a trigger warning before hand. While a horror film it also heavily deals with trauma and mental illness. It’s a pretty heavy film, but still enjoyable.

Bodies Bodies Bodies Review

By: Shanise Lachelle

Hi guys, Happy Hump Day! We’re back with another Horror Review. This time we will be talking about A24s BODIES BODIES BODIES.

BodiesBodies Bodies is such a fun, gory , and unexpected horror film. It takes you on so many twists and Turns, you never know where it’s gonna go.

The movie follows a group of friends having a hurricane party, when they decided to play a game that turns deadly. This movie is smart in the way ALL of the characters are snobby and unlikeable so you end up not liking any of them. And at one point you’re confused as to who the actual killer is.

I kind of thought this movie was overhyped until I watched it and fell in-love! I love how annoying the characters were, it had the right amount of comedy, and the queer content was just right and believable.

If you haven’t seen BODIES, BODIES, BODIES yet do yourself a favor and go watch it immediately. It’s highly entertaining on every end.

Horror I’ve Recently Watched

By : Shanise Lachelle

Happy Spooktober babes! Here we are back with another horror I’ve watched recently. I honestly liked so more than others, so let’s get into it.

Bodies. Bodies. Bodies

Believe the hype when it comes to BODIES. Bodies. BODIES. It’s super funny and absolutely ridiculous! I never knew where this movie was going and enjoyed every bit of it! Definitely check it out, not much horror. But a lot of humor and gore!

The Deep House

The Deep House was a movie I randomly picked and liked the entire concept of an haunted under water house. It fell through half way and we kind of lost the plot and excitement. But it was for sure one of a kind and the actors did their best to bring the script alive. More creepy than scary, but definitely worth the watch.

Mr. Harrigans Phone

Based off a Stephen king shirt Story, I expected so much more from this Netflix adaptation. To say I wasn’t impressed and wouldn’t recommend it to ANYONE, says a lot. The actors were phenomenal, but the story was BORING.

What’s some recent horror you’ve watched lately? Let me know in the comments down below.

And until next time friends…..
