Ditto Review

By: Shanise Lachelle

New jeans are back,( they never really left), and with another Hit added to their growing list.

The song is very calming and but also you’ll find yourself getting up to dance and just move. “ stay in the middle like you a little” . The girls vocals sound great and the song feels like it could be in montage of romantic K-drama.

The song is about having a crush on someone but not wanting to fully put themselves out there until they know how the other person feels.

Hybe continues to let the girls grow but be completely their age and not over sexualize them! The video focus on the girls in school bonding and having fun. When it ends you see the other girls weren’t really there and it leads to a bunch of conspiracies. There’s two versions and I’ve only watched one. ( will update when I’ve seen both.) the music video totally gives All of us Are Dead Vibes.

New jeans continues to be on the right path and their music continues to excites fans! Can’t wait to see the live performances of Ditto. And I’m so proud of K-pop’s newest little sisters!! They’re doing so well and hybe seems to be taking great care of them.

Let me know what you thought about Ditto down below in the comments. And as always until next time friends….

Astronaut Review

By : Shanise Lachelle

Hi besties, we’re back with another Bts solo post and this time it’s about our Hyung SEOKJIN.

The Astronaut is a feel good song written by Coldplay just for our very own Jin! And I couldn’t think of a better collaboration than this! This song feels like SEOKJIN, and it feels like warmth and home. It feels sad but happy all at once. It feels bittersweet.

Watching the video didn’t make it any better, I totally sobbed watching it for the first time. Hearing Jin’s vocals with the message of the video just took me out.

The video and single is fresh off the news that the bts members will indeed be enlisting this year, stating with Jin in the next month or so. So it hits a little harder ,And it definitely hits hard knowing jin said the video was about leaving army and the boys behind. But keeping his love strong and that we would all be reunited soon.

I love that hybe has let each member and their solo be entirely THEM. Nothing seems forced , and it makes the boys look and feel more comfortable knowing they can put out the music they want too.

I’m so happy jin was given this song and opportunity to show off his talent and love for army. As our loving , silly , Hyung. We love you dearly and we are so proud of you in every way! Army will be right here when you get out! And this single is a MASTERPIECE!!!

SEOKJIN..,, Thankyou! I will hold this song so close to my heart.

Smile Review

By : Shanise Lachelle

Hello friends , we’re back with another horror movie review! So let’s get into it, but before we do please make sure you’re subscribed so you can stay update with everything AstoldByShanise.

Smile has been dominating every horror blog, with everyone saying it was the scariest movie they’ve seen in AGES. I was a little skeptical, because everytime something is over hyped, it usually doesn’t deliver.

But with smile I was left utterly terrified and so very much satisfied!

Smile follows Psychologist Rose when one her patients kills herself in front of her at her place of work. All while complaining of being terrified of SOMETHING that’s haunting her and smiling while doing so.

I found myself feeling so sad and defeated for the main character ROSE. I won’t post any spoilers, but the ending definitely leaves way for a sequel. And I’m very much intrigued to see where they can go with it.

The film was full of jump scares and frightening sequences, I’m not one for jump scares but a few caught me off guard.

I would definitely give this film 5/5 and say it was one my favorite horror releases this year. Go see it!!

It definitely has a lot of triggers and I wish they would have put a trigger warning before hand. While a horror film it also heavily deals with trauma and mental illness. It’s a pretty heavy film, but still enjoyable.

Bodies Bodies Bodies Review

By: Shanise Lachelle

Hi guys, Happy Hump Day! We’re back with another Horror Review. This time we will be talking about A24s BODIES BODIES BODIES.

BodiesBodies Bodies is such a fun, gory , and unexpected horror film. It takes you on so many twists and Turns, you never know where it’s gonna go.

The movie follows a group of friends having a hurricane party, when they decided to play a game that turns deadly. This movie is smart in the way ALL of the characters are snobby and unlikeable so you end up not liking any of them. And at one point you’re confused as to who the actual killer is.

I kind of thought this movie was overhyped until I watched it and fell in-love! I love how annoying the characters were, it had the right amount of comedy, and the queer content was just right and believable.

If you haven’t seen BODIES, BODIES, BODIES yet do yourself a favor and go watch it immediately. It’s highly entertaining on every end.

Horror I’ve Recently Watched

By : Shanise Lachelle

Happy Spooktober babes! Here we are back with another horror I’ve watched recently. I honestly liked so more than others, so let’s get into it.

Bodies. Bodies. Bodies

Believe the hype when it comes to BODIES. Bodies. BODIES. It’s super funny and absolutely ridiculous! I never knew where this movie was going and enjoyed every bit of it! Definitely check it out, not much horror. But a lot of humor and gore!

The Deep House

The Deep House was a movie I randomly picked and liked the entire concept of an haunted under water house. It fell through half way and we kind of lost the plot and excitement. But it was for sure one of a kind and the actors did their best to bring the script alive. More creepy than scary, but definitely worth the watch.

Mr. Harrigans Phone

Based off a Stephen king shirt Story, I expected so much more from this Netflix adaptation. To say I wasn’t impressed and wouldn’t recommend it to ANYONE, says a lot. The actors were phenomenal, but the story was BORING.

What’s some recent horror you’ve watched lately? Let me know in the comments down below.

And until next time friends…..

Favorite BTS collaborations.

By : Shanise Lachelle

Today we’re going to be talking about the recent BTS collaborations they’ve done while on “hiatus “ and rate which ones I’ve enjoyed the most. Let’s get into it…..

1. For obvious reasons and honest reasons I enjoyed jungkook and Charlie’s collab the most. The song is super catchy and the video is so endearing.

2. Goes to jhope and crush! The dance and the flow of the song is so damn cool, it just makes you want to dance. I’m aware this is crush’s song, but jhope comes in and absolutely kills it and steals all the attention!

This was a very intriguing collaboration because I didn’t know of the previous artists. The whole video gives me 90s artsy film vibes and I loved it. This is definitely a song that has to grow on me but I enjoy the vibes! And namjoon completely bodied his verse!

This was a collaboration none of us knew we needed but got anyway! And I’ll tell you what, it was exceptional!!! The dance, the acting, the western aesthetics was EVERYTHING. Not to mention this choreography had the K-pop world in a chokehold for weeks! This collaboration was top tier! And one of my absolute favorite collaborations.

I’m so excited to see what the others have cooking and to see who they choose to make music with. I’m definitely enjoying the “break” that BTS are on. They’re definitely coming into their own as artists and making great music.

What has been your favorite Bts collab so far? And who do you wish them to collab with in the future??

Recent Horror

By: Shanise Lachelle

Spooky Season is finally upon us and with that comes new horror films. Let’s talk about the recent horror films I’ve seen lately.

Orphan First Kill

To start off this was a decent prequel and I fully enjoyed it. Even the little twist, read a few spoilers . But nothing could prepare me with how it was fleshed out. Cons: The actress is obviously an adult now and you can tell. But the movie production did its best with trying to trick us into believing she was still that little adult like child. It just didn’t read well every time. 4/5

This was a film that was picked randomly off of Netflix one day and I’m glad it was picked. I went in not having high hopes but was pleasantly surprised, the film ended up being a lot better than I thought. The ending was a little weak and I didn’t care much about the characters. But the acting was decent and I enjoyed the premise of knowing when you’re going to die. Even thought i personally would have hated it. 3/5

Without giving any thing away, immediately go see this film. It’s definitely not what you think it is, and I loved the way the story was played out for the audience. Because you never really knew what was going on or where it was about to go. 5/5

Now that we’ve entered spooky season, what are some horror films you’ve seen or want to see? Let me know down in the comments below and as always until next time friends!

The Album and Born Pink Similarities.

By : Shanise Lachelle

We’re back with another BLACK PINK POST.

This time we’re comparing Their debut album with their current albums singles, and how much they sound similar. Let’s get into it….

1. Pink Venom=How you like That

2. Savage = Typa Girl

3. The Happiest Girl- you’ll never know

4. Bet you wanna know- Shut Down

6. Love Sick Girls- yeah yeah yeah

I noticed after listening to Born Pink, I loved how each song was kind of a Adult version of the songs off their debut album , The Album. I love how consistent they are with their sound.

Of course I would love for them to experiment MORE, but i absolutely love that they’ve FOUND their sound. And no one else can duplicate it. Born Pink is one of the best K-pop albums of 2022.

By :Shanise Lachelle

BlackPink has officially released their second single from their album BORN PINK, and I absolutely loved it.

Shut Down is everything I wanted from BLACKPINK. It’s a cool laid back diss track to all their haters. If it’s one thing BlackPink is gonna do, it’s let their haters know they are that GIRL GROUP. I understand why they had PINK VENOM as their hype single. Especially after being gone for two years and leaving the fans hungry. But I wish they would have had SHUT DOWN released first. Both songs address the haters and both songs are full of confidence.

Once again Rapper Jennie is back with a vengeance, and killing it. “Bunch of wannabes that wanna be me, me 3 if I was you”. Talk about SHUTTING IT DOWN!! (See what I did there), I like that the girls and their team let their success and hard work do the talking. Most A list celebrities go on rants about how they’re the shit and they’re the biggest xyz. BlackPink keeps it classy and just releases bop after bop. Letting their music set everyone straight. Jisoo looks AMAZING, especially when she’s center during the dance break! I fell a little in love with her at that moment!!

Of course every-time the Girls release anything, the haters will come and say it’s garbage or sounds like every other BlackPink song. But it’s just that they have found THEIR signature sound and they’re making the most of it. I think it’s smart while they stick to their formula they also try and change it up a bit.

I wasn’t a HUGE fan of Pink Venom when it first came out and it does sound similar to their other songs. But as always it grew on me and I love it now. Do I think they should venture out more?! Yes absolutely, but they should also keep their signature sound while they’re at it. I give SHUT DOWN 5/5 and all it’s roses. Yg does get on my nerves, and they could be doing so much MORE. And the girls should have way more albums out by now, but we will take what we can get.

BlackPink has mastered their craft and sound, and there is not another girl group out like them right now. And I’m not sure there will ever BE!!!

Favorite Born Pink Singles.

By :Shanise Lachelle

Hello friends and HAPPY SUNDAY! today starts a new week and this week will be all about Black Pink and their new album BORN PINK. So let’s get into, but before we do make sure you’re subscribed to the blog , so you can stay updated with future blog posts and much more!

Today we will be talking about my BORN Pink Favorites. Now don’t get me wrong, the entire album is 5/5. And I LOVE every song, but of course I favor some more than others. So let’s go…. Maybe we will have some of the same favorites…

1. Typa Girl- VERY MUCH OBSESSED WITH THIS SONG. it’s my new it girl anthem.

2. SHUT DOWN- another diss song to the haters, because we know BLACKPINK has many. And I’m living for all the confidence and SHADE!!!!

3. The Happiest Girl- I never thought BlackPink would have a ballad I absolutely LOVE. But here we are, the girls all sound absolutely incredible!! And this is the first time I’ve actually heard them sing and belt. Probing the haters wrong once again that they’re more than just cool K-pop idols. They can actually SING.

5. Hard to LOve- this is rose song!! And I love the chill beat but also the message behind it.

5. Pink VENOM- not my favorite BlackPink single but it’s so catchy and fire!! Had to put her on the list.

With this being only their SECOND official album. The girls are letting EVERYONE know they’re here to stay and this is why they’re so loved. But also why they’re so hated. BlackPink consistently puts out amazing songs . And they’re full of confidence and grow to be better artists each comeback! I know we blinks complain about the same old teddy – BlackPink formula. But they’ve found their sound and they’re owning it.

One things for sure, you know a BLACK PINK SONG WHEN YOU HEAR IT. One of a kind never duplicated.

BlackPink is here to stay, and Born Pink just proves that !
